                         Biography: His childhood was full of economic difficulties, that
                         translated in health problems and a precarious nutrition. He had to
                         walk 40 kilometers to train with the Santa Cruz of Recife. His father
                         died crashed by a bus when Rivaldo was just a teenager. In Brasil he
                         compare with Gerson de Oliveira, international who won the World
                         Cup Mexico '70. His debut with the Deportivo was in Agust 31st
                         1996, against the Real Madrid at Riazor (1-1). The Barcelona paid for
                         him to the Deportivo the 4.000 million pesetas that were in his
                         clause of rescission.  His debut with the arcelona was on Agust 31th
                         1997, against the Real Sociedad at the Camp Nou (3-0).
